Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML)
is an opportunistic infection seen in Imunocompromised.
Causes by JC virus ( human polyomavirus)
PML most commonly involves to Cortical white matter causing focal neurological deficits ( hemiparesis)
Other regions less commonly affected are
Brainstem and cerebellum
Diagnosis: MRI - shows multiple demyelinating, non enhancing lesion with no mass effect
